The 2023 International Clarinet Workshop

The International Clarinet Workshop (ICW) was founded by clarinetist Alexander Fiterstein in 2018. The ICW is a seminar for advanced clarinet students from around the world. In 2018 and 2019 the ICW took place in Mizra, Israel and will be back in-person in 2023. The 6-day seminar will include master classes, presentations, and panel discussions with Nicolas Baldeyrou (Virtual), Ron Selka, Lisa Perry, and Alexander Fiterstein. The workshop will also feature a competition with recorded submissions. This year’s competition pieces are Béla Kovács, Hommage á C. Debussy and Hommage á Richard Strauss.

Limited scholarships are available, please submit a letter to info@clariworkshop.org requesting financial aid with your application.

Competition

Participants of the International Clarinet Workshop are eligible (but not required) to enter the ICW competition 2023. The competition is open to clarinetists who are age 27 or younger. If you are interested in entering the competition, please submit an unedited video recording of the Béla Kovács, Hommage á C. Debussy and Hommage á Richard Strauss by June 15, 2023. The recordings will be evaluated by an international jury and the winner will be announced during the workshop and receive a $750 Prize.

The competition is only open to participants of the International Clarinet Workshop. Former winners are not eligible to participate in the competition.
